Hinds, Wygle capture womenís golf honors

In SV Womenís Invitational


Judith Hinds and Jan Wygle took top honors in the ninth annual Sun Valley Womenís Invitational golf tournament staged Wednesday and Thursday on two valley golf courses.

Hinds and Wygle (75-77 for 152-136) won gross stroke honors in the nine-team "A" flight by a single stroke over Linda Cadwell and Barbie Morgan (75-78 for 153-130).

Net honors in the "A" flight went to Joan OíNeil and Louge Malouf.

In all, 76 players on 38 teams took part in the "It Happened in Sun Valley," tournament staged on the Sun Valley and Valley Club golf courses.

Other flight winners in gross stroke totals were Candy Ryan and Becky Parks, Janet Cantor and Pat McGinnis, and Sandra Fisher and Vicki Thornton.

Net winners were Bonnie Hutchinson and Susan Carlton, Gail Lincoln and Deb Sievers, and Penny Coe and Wendy Pesky.

The tournament chairman was Jeannine Burns assisted by Liz David.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Jeannine Burns (#17 Sun Valley) and Carole Jackson (#2 Valley Club), while the longest drive prizes went to Barbie Morgan (#8 Sun Valley) and Janet Cantor (#10 Valley Club).
