Galena Lodge stages festive relay
Jackson Hole has its
Pole Pedal Paddle race, which was staged last Saturday. In comparison
Galena Lodge boasted a much more low-key relay to mark the end of the
2002-03 ski season. Called Ride-Stride-Glide, Sunday’s race for 14 teams,
plus 23 individuals, had a festive atmosphere for the 70 participants.
Tying for first place with the County Bumkins in the costume division was
the Sisters of No Mercy team featuring, from left, yardstick-wielding
biker “nun” Geoff Gardner, skier Tess O’Sullivan and runner Joanie Fox.
The schoolgirl “sisters” took their punishment happily and settled for
seventh place.
