Valley-area golfers cracked the upper echelon of the Idaho Golf
Association Tournament of Champions that attracted 91 golfers to Elkhorn
Golf Course Oct. 5-6.
Walter
Littenberg (74-75 for 149) tied for first place in the Men’s Senior
Champions class, then had to settle for second when Caldwell’s Ron
Hase (78-71 for 149) birdied the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.
The women’s
Senior winner was Virginia Undhjem of Twin Falls (75-84 for 159). Local
golfer Dick Shelton finished his 36-hole tour at 76-81 for 157.
Christopher
James of Challis (75-72 for 147) won the Men’s Club Champion
championship over Brian Smith of Eagle (73-77 for 150). Tying for fifth
place out of 29 golfers with three others was Dave Hutchinson (74-78 for
152).
Elkhorn’s
Kitty Willard (78-79 for 157), the first-round leader, finished second
in Women’s Club Champions behind Lisa Wasinger of Boise (79-75 for
154).
Overall
champion was Aaron Curtis of Twin Falls (75-69 for even-par 144) by a
stroke over Eric Peterson of Meridian (72-73 for 145). The women’s
winner was Jean Smith of Eagle (73-76 for 149).
