Celebrities give
Janss Center a boost
Golf tourney,
dinner coming up
Celebrities,
golfers and Sun Valley summer partygoers will step up and raise money
for the proposed Bill Janss Community Center in Ketchum with two
activities early next week.
The 2002
Celebrity Classic banquet, raffle and golf tournament are planned for
Sunday and Monday, July 14-15 in Sun Valley.
Celebrities
scheduled to attend include Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Picabo Street, Peter
Cetera, Jamie Lee Curtis, Arte Johnson, Sandy Koufax, Tim Ryan, Mariel
Hemingway, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver and Pamela Sue Martin.
"It’s
nice of the celebrities to be so generous in lending their time,"
said Alex Orb, co-chairman of the "Our Kids Campaign," the $8
million capital campaign for the Janss Center.
Sunday, July 14:
Banquet
on Wally’s Pond at Sun Valley Gun Club, complete with celebrity
entertainment by host/comedian Wil Shriner, comedian Paul Rodriquez and
musical guests Lisa Loeb, Dweezil Zappa and Cynthia Sikes.
Schedule:
Cocktails and silent auction from 6-7 p.m. Dinner and live auction 7-8
p.m. featuring auctioneer Saul Turteltaub. Single tickets are $250,

Monday, July 15:
"Best
ball" golf tourney (each team assigned a celebrity golfer) at Sun
Valley Golf Course. Registration and lunch from 12 noon. Shotgun start
at 2 p.m. Presentations, cocktails and the barbecue dinner afterwards.
