Who will be
Stanley's mayor?
STANLEY—Who
will be Stanley’s permanent new mayor will be decided May 8 by the city
council.
After Mayor
Hilda Floyd resigned earlier this year and left town before the end of her
first four-year term, the council named councilman Robert Downing, 56,
pastor of the Sawtooth Baptist Church, to be acting mayor.
Downing, a
Jerome native who’s lived in Stanley for 11 years, has said he’s
interested in being the new full-time mayor.
Mayor Floyd
moved to Boise after her bed-and-breakfast inn failed.
