Adam cracks
Bigwood golfing record
At Blaine County
Closed
Dave
Adam installed his name in the Bigwood Golf Course record book Sunday,
firing an 18-hole round of 67 to set a new Bigwood course record for a
competitive round.
Actually,
Adam broke the long-standing Bigwood record of 71 twice during the
two-day, 36-hole Blaine County Closed tournament. He shot 70-67 for
137-137 to win the men’s club championship by 17 strokes.
Finishing
second gross in the 0-9 handicap Men’s A Flight due to a card playoff
was Cade Bowen (79-75 for 154-150). He nipped Sun Valley GC club champion
Walter Littenberg (77-77 for 154-150). First net was Brian Saksa (74-72
for 146-138).
Top
woman in the 22nd annual tournament for 37 players was 14-21 Women’s A
Flight winner Janet Cantor (85-92 for 177-149). The weather was absolutely
ideal, and owner Dave Sellgren’s hospitality also earned a honorary
birdie.
Long
drive winners were Jamie Hjort and Janet Cantor. Proximity winners: Mike
Pirzynski and Joanne Wetherell.
Tournament
organizers thanked River Run Auto Parts, Wells Fargo Bank, Sun Valley
Brewing, Uhrig Fencing, Pepsi Cola and Grumpy’s for support and added
money.
