With some of the best skiing of the season on cool, shady
slopes, Sun Valley Co. graciously made an eleventh-hour decision to keep
Baldy open to skiers and snowboarders for another week.
The ski area—this time for real—will close for the
winter season on Sunday.
Although ample snow remained on the
hill, Warm Springs block party revelers celebrated what they thought was
the end of the ski season over the weekend. That was before Sun Valley Co.
announced that Baldy would be open yet another week. Pictured above, the

Over the weekend, revelers danced away what they thought
was the end of the season at a traditional Warm Springs block party.
Watering holes were chock full. The Bobos made music. Spring slack—and
biking and hiking—had commenced.
Not so fast.
Taking advantage of the warm spring temperatures and a
mixing of the seasons, Sun Valley proudly announced in a press release
that you can have a "same day ski and tee."
The Challenger lift will be the only lift operating during
the last week of skiing. Christmas lift, which had been open until last
Sunday, will be closed.
For golfers, the Sun Valley Resort Golf Course is open and
has a spring special through April 29. Prices are $36 for 18 holes and $24
for nine holes.
