Nursery prez

Certified Arborist from Hailey

Hailey’s Bill Josey, owner and operator of ArborCare Resources Inc., has been named president of the Idaho Nursery Association (INA).

Josey’s selection was made during the INA’s annual convention and trade show Jan. 20 in Boise. His term lasts through Jan. 2001, then he stays active on the INA Board of Directors through 2002.

He has served on the INA board for seven years. In that time Josey has headed up committees including financial, membership, convention, professional awards, promotion and member benefits.

The INA is a statewide association that includes nursery operators, landscapers, garden centers, arborists, horticulture and educators, as well as other groups involved with the state’s green industry.

Josey is a certified arborist who specializes in tree and shrub management.

He has a BS in Forestry Management through North Carolina State University where he served a co-op with the North Carolina Forest Service in the tree improvement department.

After graduation he moved to Boulder, Colo. to rock climb. To support his activities he began his work as an arborist in Boulder where he was a working supervisor in all aspects of the tree care industry.

Bill and his wife, Kris, left Colorado in 1992 to move to the Wood River Valley. He ran Webb Landscaping’s south valley operations prior to starting ArborCare Resources Inc. in 1997.

Currently, Josey holds the title of Idaho State Tree Climbing Champion, a competition he won in 1998 and 1999. He intends to defend his title in May 2000.
