Test Flight

A great-horned owl takes flight from a barn near Hailey. Owls are most active at night, hunting prey that includes small rodents, rabbits, birds and reptiles, using their sharp talons to seize unwary victims. In the day, they use their camouflage to hide and rest. Great-horned owls are the most widely distributed owls in the Americas. Photo by Roland Lane
