Blending a rare combination of form, speed and style, Nina Viesturs, center, heads out of the gate on a run that earned her first-place honors in the 4-year-old-girls category of the 58th annual Kindercup races Sun-day at Dollar Mountain. On her way to a time of 12.52 seconds, she got a supportive send-off from her father, Ed, a world-class mountaineer, as Tim Isaacs, left, and starter Doran Key, right, look on. Close to 300 of the valley’s youngsters raced in the event. Event organizers were pleased with the turnout, in spite of a day-light-saving time change and a bit of rainy weather.
