NEWS UPDATES:

When all else fails, buzz it

In an attempt to stimulate winter snowfall, Brian Webber of PK’s Ski & Sports in Ketchum, rear, took matters into his own hands Saturday and shaved some heads. Webber maintains that history tells us that this maneuver has worked for the Wood River Valley in previous years when desperate times required desperate actions. Webber shaved, cut and manicured a half-dozen heads of hair into mullets, mohawks and buzz cuts. In front from left to right, Billy Cook, of Ketchum, 4-year-old Charlie Reid, of Hailey, and Dougie Yeates, of Ketchum, show a thumbs-up for their haircuts and for anticipation of snowfall. This exercise just might have helped, as there is a 90 percent chance of some snowfall today, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Photo by Willy Cook
