NEWS UPDATES:

Snow fever—catch it

Sonia Sommer and Emma Desserault, 10, enjoy a speedy sled run down the Lower River Run slope of Bald Mountain on Saturday. More than 100 people took to the ski mountain Saturday to glide, ride and sled in a few inches of fresh snow. Sun Valley Resort is scheduled to open its 78th ski season on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28. Those who have planned to go to the mountain before then should know that Baldy will be closed to uphill traffic Saturday, Nov. 23, through Wednesday, Nov. 27, during Sun Valley’s early-season race camp.
