NEWS UPDATES:

Noxious weeds meet their match

Macho, a livestock guard dog, watches over a herd of goats moving north along the Wood River Trail bike path north of Hailey Wednesday evening. Under the direction of herder Percy Santana, the goats were being moved along the Blaine County Recreation District trail to eat noxious weeds, allowing the district to forego the use of chemical weed sprays. The district contracted with Prescriptive Livestock Services of Washington state to have the goats eliminate weeds along the popular public pathway. Photo by Roland Lane
