NEWS UPDATES:

Early Birds Catch The First Chair

From left to right, skiers JoAnn Levy, Michael Niedrich, Will Long and Logan Johnston ride the first chairlift up Bald Mountain on Thanksgiving morning to kick off Sun Valley Resort’s 77th ski season. The resort opened the River Run side of Baldy as planned on Nov. 22, with a solid line forming for rides up the Lower River Run lift to get to higher elevations. Levy arrived at 6:30 a.m. to find a tent set up at the lift terminal with the three young men holding a spot at the head of the line. “The skiing was terrific and a great way to spend Thanksgiving morning,” Levy said.
