NEWS UPDATES:

Fall Colors

The Boulder Mountains rise above Wood River Valley hillsides glowing with fall foliage last weekend. According to the U.S. Forest Service’s Fall Colors Hotline, trees in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area and the Ketchum Ranger District are “very close to full color,” as evidenced by the golden-yellow and orange aspen leaves in this area north of Ketchum. Due to a vast summer drought, Utah has already passed its peak and most trees have dropped their leaves. However, Idaho national forests are still blushing right on cue, signaling that it’s time to start thinking snow. Photo by Roland Lane
