Soulful Rock Slides Into Sun Valley

J.J. Grey and Mofro, a touring band with Southern roots playing a soul-drenched, bluesy blend of rock music, entertain the crowd at the Sun Valley Shakedown concert held Saturday at Festival Meadows in Sun Valley. Grey’s lyrics for the band’s original music hinted of both personal and universal themes reminiscent of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Grey, center, is flanked by Anthony Cole on drums, left, Dennis Marion on trumpet and Art Edmaiston on saxophone. Photo by Willy Cook
