NEWS UPDATES:

Spring Season Heats Up Early

You’re right to think that spring-like weather and dry playing fields have arrived a little earlier than normal. The Wood River High School softball team didn’t have a home game at South Valley Sports Complex in Hailey until April 19 last year. The team’s first game was April 3 this year. And it was very warm Saturday afternoon when hard-throwing Wolverine freshman pitcher Brittney Bradley delivered this pitch during the second game of a league doubleheader against the Jerome Tigers on the Hailey diamond. More evidence of the early spring—Bigwood Golf Course north of Ketchum opens to the public for the season today, its earliest opening in five years. Photo by Willy Cook
