NEWS UPDATES:

Happy Anniversary!

Sun Valley Resort celebrated its 75th anniversary with a bang on Christmas Eve. The evening featured a special presentation of the annual “Nutcracker on Ice” ice show, followed by fireworks and a “torchlight parade” on Dollar Mountain. Sun Valley Co. spokesman Jack Sibbach estimated the crowd at the resort’s outdoor ice rink at about 4,000 people. “It was a great turnout for our Sun Valley tradition for the last 75 years,” Sibbach said. “The event keeps getting better. We appreciate all the support it receives and we hope that our Sun Valley tradition becomes a family tradition for our guests and the local community for years to come.” More than 200 Sun Valley ski instructors with torches navigate the slopes of Dollar Mountain, as colorful fireworks burst overhead.
