NEWS UPDATES:

Indian Creek Fire Provides Brief Scare

Courtesy photo by Isabelle Moore A lightning-caused wildfire burns briskly on hillsides above the Indian Creek drainage north of Hailey Sunday evening, sending thick smoke upward into the storm clouds. The fire burned an estimated 238 acres of sagebrush-covered land managed by the federal Bureau of Land Management. The blaze came within a half-mile of residences in Indian Creek but was quickly knocked down by rain and an aggressive aerial attack by the BLM to drop water and fire retardant on the area. The fire was fully extinguished on Monday.
