Hailey Skatepark Expansion Almost Complete
After pouring concrete, workers expanding the Hailey Skatepark smooth the surface in anticipation of a late-summer re-opening. The expansion will include urban “street” skating features and allow for beginners and intermediate skaters to enjoy Hailey’s world-class skatepark. The project was made possible last year with a $3.5 million bond passed by taxpayers to redevelop the entire Hailey rodeo grounds. The initial design for the new terrain was completed by Gene Fairbrother, as part of his high school senior project. Hailey Public Works Director Tom Hellen said the new area could be open to skaters within two weeks. Photo by David N. Seelig
