Man Dies When SUV Goes Off Cliff

Fire and rescue crews prepare to rappel down a steep embankment on the side of Trail Creek Road northeast of Sun Valley on Wednesday, after witnesses reported that a car had gone off the side of the dirt road and tumbled into the canyon below. Crews later recovered the body of Sun Valley resident Brian R. Griffin, 55, some 750 feet below the road in Trail Creek, outside of a destroyed 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving. The cause of the crash—which reportedly happened as Griffin was driving north from Sun Valley to go hiking—is under investigation. For a story and more photos, turn to Page 3. Photo by David N.
