NEWS UPDATES:

Panthers rout Rockland 46-0

It didn’t take the home team Carey Panthers long to score their first of six touchdowns Saturday in a quarterfinal game of the State 1A Division 2 football playoffs at Derrick Parke Memorial Field. On Carey’s second play, junior Charlie Rivera, right, slipped behind Rockland defender Ty Colton, left, and caught a perfect lead pass from senior quarterback Caleb Cenarrusa for a 47-yard touchdown. Carey (9-1) won 46-0 and advanced to Thursday’s 6:30 p.m. state eight-man semi-final against unbeaten Castleford (10-0) indoors at Pocatello’s Holt Arena. Photo by Willy Cook
