NEWS UPDATES:

And They’re Off!

Just the idea of climbing the nearly two-mile, 3,140-vertical foot Warm Springs route up Bald Mountain in 36 minutes was mind blowing back when the Baldy Hill Climb started in 1979. But it has become more and more common each September for Wood River Valley athletes. On a mild Saturday morning, 226 athletes made the trek, led by 21-year-old Miles Fink-Debray. Shown here taking the early lead at the bottom of Warm Springs, Fink-Debray, center, won his fourth straight hill climb in 36 minutes and 31 seconds—nearly three minutes ahead of his closest pursuer.
