Rare salmon get boost at Redfish
Sockeye released into lake after second summer of high returns
Tomi Quigley, a biological aide at the Sawtooth Fish Hatchery, releases one of nearly 250 sockeye salmon into Redfish Lake on Wednesday. About 450 of the red fish were released this week as part of recovery efforts by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, and its project partners. Over 700 sockeye returned to the Stanley area this summer, swimming 900 miles upstream from the Pacific Ocean. Photo by David N. Seelig
