Rockers Set Stage For Celebration

The Back Alley Party at the Wicked Spud in Hailey featured the rock ’n’ roll of Wood River Valley band Four Stroke Bus on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The Back Alley Party was a benefit for Mountain Rides, which celebrated its ninth annual Smart Moves Community Challenge. Smart Moves participants received prizes and celebrated a summer-long challenge tracking their trips by bus, bike, walking or carpool. Laurie Leman won a grand prize raffle drawing for a bike from the Elephant’s Perch. Other award winners included Leslie Londos for Best Bus Effort, Mary Morrison for Best Ride Share Car or Vanpool, Bronwyn Patterson for Best Walking Effort, Maria Beattie for Best Bike Effort, and the Webbers for Best Family Effort. The challenge had 75 participants and 12 employee participants. The Smart Moves Community Challenge is a Wood River Valley alternative transportation event designed to encourage people to reduce single-occupancy car trips.
