NEWS UPDATES:

SNOW DAYS

As winter approaches, outdoor enthusiasts throughout the Wood River Valley are sharing thoughts about one thing: snow. They are trying to predict the weather. They are waxing up their skis and snowboards. And they are wondering if this is the year to go out on a limb and test the limits of adventure. This special post-Thanksgiving edition of the Idaho Mountain Express, ?Snow Days,? is a tribute to the wintertime adventurer in all of us. In these pages, not only will you find ideas about where and how to play in the snow, but answers to such questions as, ?Where does our snow come from?? (Hint, it?s on Page 10.) Moreover, you will hear the stories of valley residents who have helped make winter sports a staple of life here, and of those who have blazed new trails in mountains and on the slopes. Come, enjoy a day in the snow. Photo by Matt Leidecker
