Fall sports kick into gear

Community School junior Maddie duPont (left) outruns a Minico Spartan defender during Saturday's 8-0 Cutthroat girls' soccer victory over the visiting team from Rupert, on the Sagewillow Farms soccer pitch. The Cutthroat girls, unbeaten at 5-0 just like the Cutthroat boys' varsity soccer team, are on an early-season roll having scored 36 goals and having yielded only one goal in five games. The Sun Valley girls' and boys' teams host Gooding Thursday and Bliss Friday in a couple of important High Desert Soccer Conference contests on the Elkhorn fields.
