Kids, Meet The Doctor

Lara McLean, a lieutenant and medic for the Ketchum Fire Department, reads a Dr. Seuss tale to kids at the Big Wood School in Ketchum Thursday morning, during an event to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the popular child author?s birthday. Seuss, who wrote classics such as ?The Cat in the Hat,? ?Green Eggs and Ham? and ?How The Grinch Stole Christmas,? died in 1991 at the age of 87. Big Wood School students on Thursday also celebrated the ninth annual Read Across America Day. They enjoyed readings of Dr. Seuss books and were treated to a snack of green eggs and ham, a parade and birthday cake. Photo by David N. Seelig
