Mutton Bustin' Draws Cheers, Grins

Colby Marsh, of Hailey, hangs on for the ride of his life during the Mutton Bustin' event at the Hailey Days of the Old West Rodeo Sunday. New to the rodeo this year, Mutton Bustin' features little buckaroos flying out of the chute into the rodeo arena, trying to hold on for as long as possible. It has grown in popularity to become one of the most entertaining rodeo events throughout the West. Marsh had the ride of the night. Other competitors did not last long on the backs of other sheep, as they were flipped, tossed and stomped off. Marsh rode the woolly bugger the entire length of the arena and later received his trophy with a thunderous applause. Photo by Willy Cook
