NEWS UPDATES:

'Tis The Season

Snowmaking guns were operating at full tilt Thursday morning on the Mid River Run section of Bald Mountain, after cold weather finally set in over the Wood River Valley. Only dustings of natural snow have fallen on Baldy this fall, prompting some local skiers to start wondering if their first turns of the season will come only on man-made snow. Baldy, which boasts one of the most advanced snowmaking systems in the world, is scheduled to open for skiing and snowboarding on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24. Photo by David N. Seelig
