The Lodge That Carol Built Young snowboarders set out for a day on Dollar Mountain from Carol?s Dollar Mountain Lodge in Sun Valley. The new lodge is named for Carol Holding, wife of Earl Holding, who owns Sun Valley Company. Mrs. Holding dreamt of a more complete lodge for children for the last 15 years. This year her dream became a reality, with the new Dollar Lodge that was built specifically for children, and was dedicated Monday with a gala open house celebration attended by hundreds of people from throughout the Wood River Valley.
