Zeitgeist runners finish 13.1-mile Boise course

Half marathon has 634 footracers


     On a wet day, Andy Hall, 36, of Victor, Idaho (1.23:30) led the field of 634 finishers in Saturday’s 13th annual Zeitgeist Half Marathon footrace in Boise. Wilhelm Northrop, 44, of Boise (1.25:12) was third.

     Ketchum’s Mason Frederickson, 29, placed 88th overall with a time of 1.49:19 on the 13.1-mile course, the 76th man and 13th in his age class. In all, 274 men and 360 women finished the footrace.

     Tying for the women’s victory at 1.41:04, good for 38th place overall, were Boise runners Julia Jensen, 42 and Andrea Bretz, 39.

     Staged on country roads with paved surfaces, Zeitgeist featured three hills and 1,181 feet of elevation gain. The loop course started and finished at Optimist Football Park.

     Zeitgeist benefited Polycystic Kidney Disease research at the Kidney Institute of the University of Kansas.

     Here are results of the other seven Wood River Valley finishers, starting with overall placings and including their age and class results:

     338—Sarah Dugas, 26, of Sun Valley 2.11:24 (20th class, 139th woman). 421 (tie)—Heather Brown, 30, of Hailey 2.21:27 (47th class, 198th woman) and Nicholas Brown, 30, of Hailey 2.21:27 (34th class, 224th man).

     462 (tie)—Jodi Siegel, 37, of Ketchum 2.28:55 (44th class, 227th woman) and Haley Stevens, 35, of Hailey 2.28:55 (44th class, 227th woman). 471—Deborah Mitchell, 49, of Hailey 2.29:44 (23rd class, 234th woman). 547—Katie Caldwell, 30, of Hailey 2.42:32 (66th class, 290th woman).
