Fosbury will lead away from status quo

Dick Fosbury is running for the state Legislature. His opponent, Steve Miller, was given a C- grade at the end of the legislative session by the Times-News. He voted for the status quo in Boise: cutting back on basic education and policies that hurt, not help, Idaho businesses and workers.
That status quo has led us to a situation in which Idaho shamefully has the lowest support for public education in the country and the highest rate of minimum wage jobs. This is not a coincidence. Idaho deserves better.
That is why we need to elect Dick Fosbury to the state Legislature. He is a man whose proven work ethic and dedication to the people of this state is second to none.
While many of us know him as an Olympic gold medalist, he is running to bring good businesses, higher wages and better education to Idaho. That means bringing back education funding, lessening the tax burden on working Idahoans, saving money through prison reform and protecting public lands and access.
I urge you to vote for Dick Fosbury on Nov. 4.
Steve Mills
