Former legislator supports Fosbury

I write in support of Dick Fosbury to assume my former seat in the Legislature. I have known Dick since the early 1980s and have found him to be thoughtful, hardworking and intelligent, and I know he will make a fine legislator for District 26.
As your legislator, I worked hard to reach across the aisle to make good public policy for all of our district and the state. I know that Fosbury will do the same.
I view the current person in my seat as someone who is voting the party line and not necessarily representing our district. His votes for guns on campus, the “ag-gag” bill and the state takeover of public lands that do not represent the people of Blaine County. That is why the Times-News gave him a C- at the end of this last session. And we can’t afford his replacement idea for Obamacare. Other states are discovering that this idea just doesn’t pencil out.
Fosbury’s history as a business owner/engineer in Blaine County, working with diverse interests to complete complex projects like the Wood River bike path, makes him a good choice. When it comes time to make hard budget decisions, Fosbury will stand strong for what is best for Idaho rather than cast a simple vote along party lines.
I urge you to get out and vote for Dick Fosbury. You can vote early through Friday, Oct. 31, at the basement of the Blaine County courthouse, should you choose to do so.
