Hailey man still critical following accident

Victim injured in Sunday crash at Sun Valley Sinclair

A Hailey man remained in critical condition Thursday at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise following an accident Sunday morning at the Sun Valley Sinclair service station.
Charles Bruce Innes, 71, was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus following the accident at about 8:30 a.m. Sun Valley Police Chief Walt Femling said earlier this week that an investigation indicated that Innes had been run over by a 1997 red Land Rover that backed into a gasoline pump, the Innes vehicle and a third vehicle.
The driver of the Land Rover, identified as Francis Gerlits, 83, of Ketchum, has been charged with inattentive and careless driving.
Femling said it appears that Gerlits accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal when backing up to a pump.
