Family of Woman festival dates set

By EXPRESS STAFF

The eighth annual Family of Woman Film Festival is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26 through Sunday, March 1, at the Sun Valley Opera House.
The theme will be “Women and Their Dreams.” Five international films about exceptional women and girls who have taken control of their destinies will be followed by discussions with filmmakers and subjects of the films. Two free matinee presentations and a retrospective of a previous festival filmmaker will complete the slate. Countries represented in the films are Brazil, Iran, India, Nigeria and Syria.
Boise State University will expand its partnership with the festival, bringing several of the films and filmmakers to BSU.
The festival was founded to support the work of the United Nations Population Fund, whose mission is to assure women and girls have access to reproductive health care, education and basic human rights.
A complete festival schedule will be announced in November.
For more information on the festival, visit www.familyofwomanfilmfestival.org.
