James C. Kimmel has satisfied a debt to society by paying $93 in fine and court fees for a speeding ticket he received in the city of Hailey on Thursday, Aug. 14.
Kimmel, 46, of Van Nuys, Calif., is better known as Jimmy Kimmel, late-night talk show host of the ABC program “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Kimmel was cited for driving 35 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone near the intersection of Main Street and McKercher Boulevard in north Hailey. He was pulled over by Hailey Patrol Officer John Greenfield at 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 14. According to the citation, Kimmel was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse SUV with Idaho 8B plates, indicating that the vehicle was likely a rental car from Idaho Falls.
According to court records, Kimmel paid the fine, which is tantamount to an admission of guilt, to the clerk’s office of Blaine County Magistrate Court on Aug. 26, bringing the case to a close.
In talking about the incident on his show, Kimmel said he traveled to the Sun Valley area for a two-day fishing trip.
