Ketchum holds its Ice Bucket Challenge today

Watch somebody else get wet in the Ice Bucket Challenge when Ketchum holds its own event today, Friday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. in the field next to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church along Sun Valley Road.

Event organizer Trish Wilson said, “There are a number of local people who have or have had ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). A year ago, they raised $2.5 million in their fundraising for ALS research. This year the amount is well over $80 million because of the Ice Bucket Challenges.”

Bring your bucket, water and ice and join today’s fun. “We hope to have as many people as we can join us for the event,” said Wilson.

Ketchum is also challenging Hailey and Bellevue citizens to take part. Wilson said, “We’re doing this as the Ketchum community. We’re challenging the communities of Hailey and Bellevue to have their own Ice Bucket Challenge.”
