ImPRA rodeo finals back in Hailey Aug. 30-31

Tickets on sale at Atkinsons’

Hailey Rodeo Arena at Wertheimer Park will be a busy place filled with cowboys, cowgirls and rodeo fans over the Labor Day holiday.

The Intermountain Pro Rodeo Association (ImPRA) Championship Finals will be staged in two performances—on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 31 at 2 p.m.

Last year’s ImPRA Finals Rodeo in Hailey attracted about 100 entries. It brought together the top 12 finalists in ImPRA events over the spring and summer competition season.

All-around winners in 2013 were tie down roping season king Rob Webb of Wendell for a third straight year, and Kimberlyn Fitch of American Falls.

Advance ticket sales for the upcoming two-day Finals Rodeo are happening at Atkinsons’ Market locations. Tickets are $12 adults, $6 kids and free for ages four-and-under.

Drawings will be held at each rodeo performance for a gun raffle, with tickets $5 each or five for $20.

Mini-bronc riding will be one of the events for a $40 entry fee with 100% payback. Call ImPRA secretary Lisa Lappe at 208-521-7708 for signup.

The standard rodeo events, each with $1,000 added money, will be bareback and saddle bronc riding, bullriding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and breakaway roping. There will be $500 added money for the stock saddle bronc event.

Part of the weekend will be a slack performance Saturday, Aug. 30 at 8 a.m. featuring 18/40 tie down roping and 18/40 steer wrestling, and the No. 10 team roping competition—each featuring $200 added money.

ImPRA awards banquet is Sunday, Aug. 31 one hour after the final performance at the park next to the rodeo arena.
