Why no Wood River band in big parade?

Wagon Days are coming. The events and activities held here Labor Day weekend are second to none. While wagons, horses and their “trappings” come from everywhere for the parade, the main event is Ketchum’s ore wagons and the Big Hitch.
Among the participants are local volunteer riders, riding clubs and visiting high-school marching bands. However, there is one thing missing: the Wood River High School Band. While school is not in session at that time, for the most part, student activities are. Wood River High has a renowned jazz band, drum corps and orchestra that has performed throughout Blaine County and elsewhere but after repeated pleas to their music department they are still conspicuously absent from the Ketchum Wagon Days Parade.
Each year, the Wagon Days Committee has offered a horse-drawn flat bed to accommodate their musicians. What else will it take?
