California man injured in Timmerman crash

Victim treated and released following 3-vehicle accident

    A California man was treated and released at St. Luke’s Wood River hospital after being injured in a three-vehicle accident on Aug. 7 at Timmerman Junction south of Bellevue.
    Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey identified the victim on Monday as 29-year-old Tashi MacMillen, of Berkeley, Calif. Ramsey said MacMillen sustained left shoulder injuries. He was transported to the hospital by Wood River Fire and Rescue ambulance.
    The accident occurred at about 12:40 p.m.
    Ramsey said MacMillen, driving a blue 2007 Honda CRV, was westbound on U.S. Highway 20 when he attempted to turn onto state Highway 75 and pulled into the path of a northbound Idaho Sand & Gravel Co. tractor-trailer rig driven by Kyle J. Bateman, 33, of Kimberly. Ramsey said Bateman attempted to avoid the crash, but struck the MacMillen vehicle anyway and also struck a 2007 Ford Explorer that was southbound on Highway 75 and driven by Karen L. Truxal, 46, of Bellevue.
    Ramsey said Truxal was not injured but the truck struck her vehicle on the rear left side and tore the driver side passenger door completely off of the vehicle.
    He said all three drivers were wearing seatbelts.
    Ramsey said further that MacMillen was issued a citation alleging that he failed to yield to oncoming traffic from a stop sign.
