Ashley Wagner is Saturday’s ice show star

Johnny Weir coming Aug. 16

Ashley Wagner

Two-time defending U.S. skating queen Ashley Wagner is headliner for Saturday’s Sun Valley on Ice performance on the outdoor rink. It is the sixth of nine performances in this 78th summer of the ice show.

Wagner, 23, placed fourth in the 2012 world championships and seventh in the 2014 Olympics, her first Olympic skate.

Nathan Chen joins Wagner at Saturday’s show. Chen, 15, from Salt Lake City, Utah, is this year’s Junior World bronze medalist. Nathan is a four-time national winner, in 2010-11 as a Novice skater, and 2012 and 2014 as a junior.

Coming as the headliner on Saturday, Aug. 16 is Johnny Weir, 29, the 2008 world bronze medalist and three-time U.S. men’s king (2004-06). Weir was very popular this past winter as a television commentator for the 2014 Winter Olympic figure skating coverage.

Non-refundable tickets are now on sale at the Sun Valley Recreation Office, 622-2135. Tickets may be purchased at sunvalley.ticketfly.com.
