A 22-year-old Ketchum woman has been charged with burglary, a felony, for allegedly stealing merchandise valued at more than $3,500 in a shoplifting spree in late July in Sun Valley Village.
    T. Lily Jensen was formally charged with the crime at an initial court appearance in Blaine County Magistrate Court on July 31. She is also charged with the misdemeanor crime of petit theft.
The Roark Law Firm was appointed public defender. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19.
Jensen is currently free on $5,000 bond.
Sun Valley Police Chief Walt Femling said the thefts occurred during business hours at the Sun Valley Lodge gift shop, the Panache boutique and The Brass Ranch sportswear shop. Femling said Jensen allegedly stole 63 items, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, miscellaneous jewelry, sunglasses, phone cases and cosmetics. He said she was identified through store surveillance cameras.
Following investigation, Jensen was arrested on July 30.
“She went into the stores without any money, without any credit card and with the intent to steal; so that’s why we could charge her with burglary,” Femling said.
