Dorothy Lillian Daniel

Dorothy Lillian Daniel passed away peacefully at home with her daughter and granddaughter by her side on July 13, 2014.
She was born in Twin Groves, Idaho, on Nov. 19, 1919, to Ernest and Mabel (Abegglen) Hobbs. She was married for 69 years to Nolan Daniel. They lived together in St. Anthony, Bellingham, Idaho Falls, St. George, Hailey and in Bellevue with their daughter.
She was loved by many and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She survived one of the first successful acoustic neuroma brain tumor surgeries in 1958 and was not expected to live over two years. She amazed everyone with her strength and willingness to overcome her challenges.
Dorothy has three married children: son Dayle and Karen Daniel; son Garry (deceased) and Jackie Daniel of Idaho Falls; and daughter Pam and Chris Matey of Bellevue. She is also survived by two sisters, Ada Ostermiller and Maxine Burt, of St. Anthony; sister-in-laws Rosella Daniel and Lura and Homer Lewis from California. Dorothy has many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank Hospice Visions in Twin and give a special thank you to her granddaughter, Danette Shobe, who compassionately and unselfishly gave one on one care to her during the last year of her life.
A celebration of her life will be at a later date.
