Community School sets alumni reunion

‘Calling all Cutthroats’ event set for Aug. 1-2

The Community School in Sun Valley is inviting former students to attend its second annual All-Alumni Reunion set for Aug. 1-2.

This year’s reunion kicks off Friday, Aug. 1, with a faculty-versus-alumni soccer game at 3 p.m. at the school’s Sagewillow Fields in Elkhorn. The match will be followed by individual class parties, including the 30-year reunion of the class of 1984, which will include a mixer at Sun Valley Brewery, a gathering at the peak of Bald Mountain and a family-friendly party at Rotary Park.

Class get-togethers will also include a 20-year reunion for the class of 1994 and a 10-year reunion for the class of 2004.

Saturday, Aug. 2, will feature river rafting on the Salmon River with White Otter Outfitters. Rafting starts at 8 a.m. in Sunbeam and includes four hours of river time on the Upper Main Salmon River. Alumni will receive a discounted rate of $50 per person. Family members of all ages are welcome to attend.

Events that day also include tours of the Trail Creek and Sagewillow campuses and the construction site of the new Creative Arts and Middle School building. The reunion will conclude that evening with an all-alumni dinner at 6 p.m.

Registration is required. To register, visit and click on the “All-Alumni Reunion” tab. Registration can also be accomplished by contacting Krista Detwiler, director of alumni relations, at (208) 622-3960, ext. 165.
