Gracie Gold lets it go at Sun Valley on Ice

Brings down the house with “Let It Go”

Capping a spectacular season-opening Sun Valley on Ice show July 4, America’s reigning skating queen Gracie Gold brought down a packed house at Sun Valley Outdoor Ice Rink with a rousing rendition of “Let It Go,” from Disney’s hit “Frozen” movie. Gold, 18, an Olympic bronze medalist in 2014, performed the number with Stars on Ice after the Sochi Olympics and was a smashing Elsa “Snow Queen” lookalike along with bringing her technical mastery to the Idina Menzel song. Youngsters flocked around Friday’s headliner Gold for autographs after the Independence Day show and she sweetly greeted them. Gold, who started skating at age eight, has thoroughly enjoyed her breakthrough year. She finished fourth at the Olympics, fifth at worlds, helped start the Indianapolis 500 in May and was nominated for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Award as Best Female Athlete in June.
