July is a time for festivals, and starting this weekend in Sun Valley, it’s the annual Ketchum Arts Festival, in Festival Meadows on Sun Valley Road.
From Friday, July 11, through Sunday, July 13, visitors will find a large range of handcrafted items of all price ranges. The free-to-roam setting has some shade, food and beverages, and even live music from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
In Bellevue, people can enjoy live music. Mannie’s Jamboree requires a chair or blanket for seating purposes but there is no charge for the music, which starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, in Bellevue’s City Park. All musicians are welcome to jam and there will be Dutch-oven cooking with plates of food for $5, as well as a quilt show by the 5 Bee Quilters Guild. For more information, visit www.fiddlersofidaho.org or www.bellevueidaho.org. From 6-9 p.m., Matt Renner and Slow Children Playing will continue playing music into the evening.
Head south to Shoshone for the 27th annual Shoshone Arts in the Park, set for Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, at the Lincoln County Courthouse lawn. This event is geared for all ages and there is something for everyone. There will be arts and crafts vendors that travel from various regions of the state and beyond.
Also, a variety of food vendors will be on hand. Among the displays will be a restored Basque sheep wagon from the Onieda family, a large covered wagon, an antique fire engine and various displays of vintage cars and tractors as well. There will be a special treat on Saturday when the “Barnstormer” Pro Tractor will be on display during the day before the United Truck Pull, which will take place that evening at the Lincoln County Rodeo Grounds.
The Lincoln County Museum will be open and hosting the annual Quilt and Fiber Fair. Plan to check out the new exhibits as well as all the quilts that will be on display. A petting zoo will be available for the kids. There will be a music festival on Saturday and Sunday featuring some great musicians from all around the Magic Valley.
