Spending the Fourth of July in Stanley is a little bit like going to your cousin’s party. A little bit of a drive gets you into the backcountry backdrop of the Sawtooth Mountains.
More than 250 people are expected to attend this festive community event, about an hour’s drive north of Ketchum.
The Stanley annual Fourth of July celebrations take place at the Stanley City Center with a parade and fireworks at Pioneer Park.
Watch it, or join in, but make sure you enter from the Riverwear/Peaks & Perks parking lot on Highway 21 before 5:30 p.m.
The parade will be followed by a Street Dance on Ace of Diamonds at 6 p.m. with music by Bill Coffey and his Cash Money Cousins. The band plays a mix of country, folk, rock and blues.
Fourth of July fare will be available at Papa Brunee’s Pizza, the Gyro Tent and the Kasino Club Street Grill at the Street Dance.
Of course, there will be fireworks at dark, from Pioneer Park.
Venture down to Redfish Lake Lodge for the music of James Orr at 6 p.m. on the lawn.
