Holiday tennis starts Friday at Sun Valley

Lyle Pearson Championships

     The Fourth of July is a busy place in the Wood River Valley this year. Add the holiday tennis tournament at Sun Valley Tennis Club to the mix.

     Presented by Sun Valley Resort, the Lyle Pearson 4th of July Tennis Championships are Friday through Sunday, July 4-6 on the resort courts.

     Organized again by John Perry, the three-day tournament is presented by Sun Valley Resort. There are 25 classes with about 100 intermediate and advanced players competing in singles and doubles.

     The Open divisions are Men’s/Women’s Singles and Doubles, plus Mixed Doubles. Championship and consolation matches are set for Sunday.

     Wood River Valley-based players registered as of Monday were Amanda Alexander, Kurt Almquist, Nancy Auseklis, Maya Burrell, Wendy Cairncross, Denise DeCoster, Ann Doerflein, Dave McBryant, Hetty Morgan, Mark Nieves and Susan Nieves.
