People can join in a celebration of saving lives that they may walk past in the grocery store and never know the impact they’ve had by attending the Black & White Soiree benefiting The Advocates.
The Soiree is Friday, June 27, on the lawn at Trail Creek Cabin in Sun Valley.  The event begins at 5:30 p.m.
Visit with friends, purchase a “mystery gift” bracelet, grab an item off the “Buy It Now” board or fund a need on the wish list before moving under the tent for dinner and a live auction.
The auction lots include an African safari and weeklong stays in Provence, London and Mexico.
Closer to home, one winner will be among the first to stay at Sun Valley Resort’s new spa. A Stanley retreat, a wellness package from Zenergy and a collection of private dinners from Vintage, Enoteca’s Wood-Fired Pizza Truck and Globus round out the offerings.
One lucky winner will walk home with a live auction package for just $50.
John Curley will serve as both emcee and auctioneer. Curley is a Seattle television and radio personality who brings a level of energy and excitement that encourages bidding.
During the evening, The Advocates will debut a new short film exploring the journey of the participants in its “Skills for Success Employability” program.
The film is produced by Peggy Elliott Goldwyn, directed by Kendall Nelson, edited by John Plummer and narrated by Chantal Westerman.
The night will end with dancing to the dynamic Freddy Pink band of Seattle, a 10-piece “rock  and soul” band that has performed at various events around the community, including the Fireman’s Ball.
Their repertoire includes classic R&B hits of the 60’s, the great rocking horn bands of the 80’s and 90’s, and songs from the new millennium.
Tickets are $175 each (tables of eight and 10 and VIP tables of 10 are available) and can be purchased at 788-4191, Chapter One Bookstore, or
www.theadvocatesorg.org.
